I have had many seasons of worry and anxiety and carried the weight of being the “strong” person.

I’m a fixer by nature and have in the past always tried to fix things that were going wrong or causing stress and worry in my children’s and my mom’s life situations.

However when your children grow it’s not so easy to kiss it and make it better, and you quickly learn that you can’t fix everything for everyone and trying is just crazy.

But God…

Since coming to faith I have learned that it is not always on me to “fix”.

My son came to me a little while ago telling me that he had been exposed to HIV.

This has always been a huge fear of mine since he came out, but when he told me this I was so calm.

The Spirit gave me the words to tell him that “God has this and that we don’t know what the ultimate outcome will be but we need to just trust him and pray.”

I was so calm that it even surprised me!

This verse resonates deeply with me in times of stress and worry.

The Lord ultimately will sustain me in times of stress and worry.
