When my oldest was a newborn he was extremely colicky and miserable. The only way he would sleep was when he was in constant motion. We bounced on a yoga ball and swung him in his car seat for hours, taking turns but getting next to no sleep for weeks.

I was at my wit’s end, and we both were physically and emotionally spent.

One night I decided to find a verse to help lift our despair and I came upon this verse. I didn’t know there was a verse about sleep but this one jumped out at me.

That night we laid hands on him and prayed this verse over him. That was the first night he did a stretch of sleep without being held. It was a huge turning point for us. We prayed that over him every night and continue to pray it over all our family sporadically.

Ever since that verse has had a special place in our hearts. ❤️
